This pathway offers students an opportunity to specialise in four subjects at Post-16. Students choose A-level because they are already clear about the tertiary pathway they wish to follow. A-level programmes are content-heavy and are an excellent pathway for students to gain a strong base in the subject or field they wish to specialise in once they move onto university. Students at WSO study four subjects, three at A-level and one at AS-level (sitting an AS-level exam at the end of Year 12). In addition to this, students complete the EPQ qualification and participate in some service learning to enrich their CVs and university applications.
For those students who wish to focus on a specific career and study pathway, the IBCP (International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme) is a professionally focused, university-recognised programme.
