Hello, my name is Ellen Henretty and I am delighted to be a Vice Principal at WSO. Since joining the Academy in 2015, I have been a class teacher, curriculum coordinator and Assistant Principal. As Vice Principal, my responsibilities include; Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Staff Professional Development and Middle Leadership.
I grew up in St Andrews, Scotland which is the world’s home of golf. I undertook my teacher training at the University of Edinburgh, and since qualifying, have taught in both rural and urban locations throughout Scotland. I have also volunteered as a teacher in both Japan and Brazil, giving me a passion for travelling and working internationally. I have taught both KS1 and KS2 and also have a further degree in Health and Wellbeing, specialising in PE.
Within my role as Vice Principal, I am committed to supporting all staff to ensure outstanding teaching and learning standards that enable your child to reach their potential. As a leader, the ethos and environment in which your child learns is of the upmost importance and I am passionate about ensuring all students are safe and happy at WSO.
