Academy Deputy Principal,
Transition, New Families, Exam Modifications, ASDAN
Hi my name is Lesley Kivi. I am married and have two sons who currently attend GEMS Wellington Academy. As a family, we relocated to Dubai in 2011. I am originally from WirraI, England. I have enjoyed every minute of my teaching career, which began 24 years ago.
I have worked in several Primary schools within Merseyside, England, with wonderful students, supportive parents and inspiring colleagues. I was previously a member of the Inclusion Team at GEMS Wellington International School, before joining the vibrant team here at WSO, in February 2013. I was originally appointed as the Head of Inclusion and have recently moved in to a Deputy Principal role, overseeing Transition across the Academy, as well as Gifted and Talented provision for our Secondary students, Competence Development and ASDAN Pathways. I have recently completed my CPT3A qualification giving me status as a qualified Specialist Assessor, ensuring examinations Access Arrangements are in place with UK examination boards for our Year 11 students.
In my free time, I love to travel and explore new places with my family. Dubai is a second home to me, and I feel very much at ease here. I feel very lucky to live in such a vibrant and exciting city.
