Since joining WSO in September 2017, I have enjoyed a fantastic two years working and living in Dubai. Beginning my third year and taking on an Assistant Principal role, I will be leading on Data and Assessment in the Secondary Phases of the Academy and I am looking forward to the excitement, challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Originally from Northern Ireland, after graduating as a Mathematics Teacher in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne I worked in two schools in the North East of England. It was there where I discovered the power of data in education and how, when utilised in the right way and for the right reasons, it can have a huge impact on the advancement of our students. I believe that the progress students make in their time at WSO is the responsibility of every teacher, but in my role, I aim to ensure that no child is left behind. I believe that there are no limits to what children can achieve if guided in the right way. I endeavour to provide the platform that will allow teachers to guarantee that every single child is personally catered for; both supporting and challenging them at all times to succeed and achieve their best.

I feel privileged to work in such a diverse and progressive school as WSO and am proud to be part of a leadership team who are constantly aspiring to raise the achievement of the students in our care. Being the first British Curriculum School in the UAE to offer IB, A-Levels and BTEC highlights the vision we have of being a fully inclusive school who provides pathways for every student. I truly believe that across our broad curriculum offerings, we are creating students who are World-Class, World-Ready and I look forward to the continuing part I can play in their educational journeys.
