In 2002, I qualified from St. Mary’s University in England in with a combined honours degree in Sports Science and Geography. Once I had completed my degree, I realised teaching was my true passion, so embarked upon a PGCE in Secondary Geography. My initial years were spent teaching in inner-city schools in London and Birmingham. After four years teaching in the UK, my family and I moved to São Paulo, Brazil where I taught Geography in an IB World School and held the position of Head of Geography, and oversaw the IB Diploma Programme Core. In 2010, with a heavy heart we left Brazil and migrated to Australia where I held the position of Head of Humanities then moving into the role of MYP Coordinator. In 2015, we moved to Dubai where I started my WSO journey. Over the past five years, I have held a variety of positions across the academy. This year will be my sixth year at WSO and I am particularly excited to start the academic year as Assistant Principal and support the personal and academic growth of Year 12 and 13. I have a true passion for Post-16 teaching and my personal aim is to help facilitate the dreams and aspirations of our maturing GEMS.
